BWL Season Format
The Bluewater League continues to try to optimize the hockey season structure and has agreed to adopt a new season structure for the 2025-26 season. Unless and until the OMHA pushes down a mandatory season template, we believe our new format will serve us for many seasons into the future.

Your VP Travel has all the information and will answer any questions you may have. Please continue to read below for the full details.

....

Pre-Season (Development Season) Structure:
U10-U18 A and B teams:
4 games allowed; the League pre-sets 2
Date: Sept 2-Sept 28

Regular Season Structure U10-U18 A and B teams:
Part A:
Sept 29-Nov 8
Single round-robin format
Win = 1pt; Tie = .5pts

Part B:
Nov 12-Feb 6
Double round-robin format
Win = 3pts; Tie = 1.5pts

The points system in this structure will ensure the Regular season is viable and fair to all teams.

Post Season Structure U10-U18 A and B teams:
Feb 7 - March 6
Teams will be split into 2 groups (even where possible) based on regular season seedings
Each group will play a double round robin format

Top 2 finishers from each RR will cross over into a best-of-3 game series March 7-Mar 14 (Series A and B)
Winners from that series will play another best-of-3 game series (Series C) after March Break (final dates TBD)
Winner of that series will advance to OMHA championship weekend.

Bluewater League Day of Champions
Sunday March 29th
Loser of Series C will advance as #1 seed in BWL DOC
Losers of Series A and Series B will compete in a 1-game play-in to be the #2 seed in the BWL DOC

More details on the DOC will be provided later in the season. Please direct all questions to your local VP Travel.

NOTE: THE U8MD AND U9MD SEASON FORMAT WILL REMAIN THE SAME AS 2024-25.
